African kids to sing at state open house The Star Online
FORT Cornwallis is set to sizzle when the Penang Christmas Open House is held there on Sunday.
Some 10,000 people are expected to flock there to revel in the Christmas celebrations which will be held from 7 pm to 10 pm.
Air Itam assemblyman Wong Hon Wai said an added attraction at this year’s open house celebration would be the Watoto Children Choir from Uganda.
“Thirty members from the choir group will be performing during the celebration,” said Wong said at a press conference at Fort Cornwallis.
The choir group performed at the Christmas Open House in Selangor last year.
The open house here will feature a variety of local delicacies including Penang’s hawker fare.
Wong said the event, would not be for only Christians, but for all to celebrate the festival in the true spirit of Malaysia.
It is jointly organised by the state government and the Christian Federation Malaysia, Penang.
