Practitioners develop more positive thought patterns and a feeling of greater space in the body. Through the regular practice of yoga postures, core strengthening exercises, breathing techniques, and deep relaxation you can:

Benefits of Pilates

Pilates is a method of exercise and physical movement that is designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body. A Pilates workout will typically have less stretching exercises. There is a greater focus on exercises that tone surface muscles and strengthen deep muscles next to the spine. The muscles in the abdomen and pelvic floor such as the transverse abdominus are also strengthened. Through the regular practice of Pilates, you can expect to achieve the following benefits:

For people recovering from an injury who are wishing to slowly build their strength to participate in Pilates classes, yogilates can be a good start.

Yogilates generally begins with a strength training component using dumbbells. During the Pilates portion of a yogilates classes, participants can expect to stretch and strengthen all major muscle groups with particular emphasis on muscles that support a healthy spine. The class concludes with yoga postures that will strengthen and stretch the entire body, developing long, lean and well balanced muscles. You will leave this class feeling relaxed and energized, fully prepared to meet the challenges of daily life.

The regular practice of Yogilates is helpful for weight loss, toning, arthritis, back pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and osteoporosis. Bone density and joint health improve.
