To all TSN residents and supporters,

TSNRA is organizing an urgent signature campaign against the cutting of  our Taman pavements and widening of our roads for new high-rise projects in the kampung land stretching across TSN behind Tingkat Bukit Kecil 2. These are 3 major development projects which many residents may not be aware of. Visit Penang Property Talk to view all housing projects around TSN. We are not against the building of the high rise apartments, but we are fighting against the usage of TSN roads to be used as traffic thoroughfare. All of us will be affected as we can expect an increase of 1000+ vehicles plying in and out of all our TSN entry & exit roads daily.

MBPP has already approved the planning permission to build 2 blocks of 43 and 44 storey apartments near Gerbang BK 1. The developer has also been approved to widen the access road. The widening will mostly be on one side of the road (Melati Apt side). The pavement, grass verge and the matured trees on the right (Melati) side will be removed to widen the road for tractors, heavy earth movers for the new high rise development in Gerbang BK 2. When the 3 apartment blocks are completed in about 3 years time, an estimated 1000+ vehicles will go through our Taman.

Do go to this link to view the high rise project involved in our petition :

Residents of Taman Sri Nibong and supporters, please support us and sign this urgent petition if you have not done so. Volunteers will be at the Clubhouse daily from 6.00 – 7.00 pm to collect signatures. Do turn up in full force and help to inform neighbours & friends to oppose widening of our roads for greater traffic flow, creation of more entrances and exits in & out of our Taman, increased traffic congestion & parking and pollution problems.

We hope to get 2000+ signatures to present to MBPP. Moreover, we have to appear before an Appeals Board which is a Tribunal appointed by the State in accordance with the Town & Country Planning Act. It consists of 3 independent members chaired by a retired senior lawyer. The rest are distinguished professionals. The Appeals Board will hear objections from either party (developer or residents) if they do not agree with the decisions made by the Local Authorities. In this case, we the residents do not agree with the approval made by MBPP. The Appeals Board will listen to arguments made by both parties. The Appeals Board decision is binding but if either party does not agree with the decision, they can bring it up for judicial review ie. to the High Court and Appeals Court. This rarely happen as it can cost tens of thousands to fight all the way.

The developers will have very senior lawyers representing them. On our part, we must also get a lawyer experienced in such cases to represent us at this coming appeals hearing. To do this, we must collect donations from residents and supporters for the lawyer’s fee unless we can get a TSN lawyer who can volunteer to represent us. Please donate to help us through.

Please share widely to help us collect more signatures. Time is running out.

Thank you all volunteers on duty daily at TSNRA to collect signatures.

Fyi, in 2013, we succeeded in our appeal in not allowing the developer of the 2 apartment blocks of 341 medium cost units) to have an access road through our Taman to the coastal highway. This project is now on hold.

Dialogue with our ADUN YB Dato’ Mohd. Rashid bin Hasnon

at 10.00 am on Sunday 29 March 2015

at Taman Sri Nibong Residents’ Association

On Fri, Mar 20, 2015 at 8:06 am, the TSNRA Combi Team Leader Chris Wong <wongcj.usm@gmail.com> wrote in the TSNGG:

Please be informed that our Taman Sri Nibong is the Champion for Dengue Cases at the Dengue Cases Barat Daya weekly meeting since January 2015. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 25 March 2015 at Balik Pulau Health Department. If the situation does not improve, Kementerian Kesihatan from KL will come to our Taman. We might be upgraded to become National Champion soon.

A total of 74 cases was reported by Kementerian Kesihatan in our taman for the period  01.01.15 to 18.03.15.  Details are as follows:-

Jan 2015 to 21/03/15 :
Lavinia     27
Lintang     23
Pesarian     8
Mawah        6
Melati          3
Lebuh          4
Tingkat       3
Total         74
The above is the confirmed figure that i got from Puan Dydy Ilyani, Pegawai Sains K.K. during this morning meeting wjich is still in progress.
Total death in P.Pinang this year: 5

In order to reduce the dengue cases, Kementerian Kesihatan sent a big team comprising the MPPP, JKR, Bomba and Health officials to our Taman Sri Nibong on 19 March 2015 .

Since our Taman Sri Nibong residents are not really interested in “Gotong Royong” and give their cooperation, Kementerian Kesihatan needs to carry out house to house checking soon. If your house is detected to have larvae, you will be fined RM 500. If you don’t want to open house for them to check, the police will be with them for their next visit.

On 29 March 2015, 10.00 am our ADUN Y.B. DATO’ HAJI MOHD RASHID BIN HASNON wants to have dialogue with our residents at the  Taman Sri Nibong Residents’ Association on dengue cases. Hope as many residents as possible can attend this meeting to solve this problem.

We hope all of our residents can work together to reduce or stop dengue cases soon.

Thank you.

TSN Combi Gotong-Royong due to new dengue outbreaks in Lavinia

Filed under: RA — mollyosc @ 6:44 am

Dear residents,
The Balik Pulau Health Department has alerted us that within the month of January 2015, there were two cases of confirmed dengue fever at Lavinia Apartment. This does not include unreported cases. Therefore, they have declared Lavinia Apartment and Taman Sri Nibong as the Hot Spot area for Dengue Outbreak. In order to prevent the situation from worsening, we need to have a gotong-royong, to reduce dengue cases soon.
Details of gotong-royong :-
Date:-     7 Feb 2015 (Saturday)
Time:-     9.30 am – 12.00pm
Place:-    Lavinia Guard House
We hope all the residents at Taman Sri Nibong will participate in this gotong-royong. The whole of Tmn Sri Nibong will be affected as the Aedes mosquitoes can fly anywhere.
Happy Chinese New Year without Dengue Fever
Thanks you.

Dear TSN residents,

The Health Department has alerted us that dengue cases are on the rise in our Taman within the last few weeks. COMBI Taman Sri Nibong would like to request the cooperation of all residents to help prevent the numbers from increasing and hopefully to eradicate this threat. Below are some actions which need to be done as soon as possible.

1. Kindly pass the message around to as many residents as possible about this situation which is becoming serious in our  community.
2. It is important for everyone to check the drains, surrounding areas, within your compound and also inside your houses to make sure that there is no breeding place for the mosquitoes.
3. Protect yourselves by spraying insecticide in dark areas at least once a week to kill the mosquitoes.
4. Clean the water containers in your bathroom once a week and add abate to prevent the mosquitoes from breeding.
5. During fogging, please cooperate and open your windows to make the fogging effective.
6. If you see any clogged drains, clear it or kindly inform me or any committee member if it is a difficult job.
7. Check the gutters which can be blocked by leaves and make sure the water is able to flow freely.
8. If possible, check your rooftop water tank as well.
9. If any person has fever, quickly see the doctor.

With all measures taken and your cooperation, we should be able to overcome this problem and live safely.
There will be a clean-up gotong-royong next Saturday, 29 Nov 2014 at 9 am. Please gather at the Clubhouse to help out.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Wong CJ

Dear Residents,

I attended a meeting this morning pertaining to “Wabak Denggi” by Kementerian Kesihatan Barat Daya, Balik Pulau.

Reported cases in our Taman Sri Nibong as at 15.11.2014 are as follows:-

1. Persiaran Bukit Kecil – 8
2. Lavinia Apt. – 3
3. Lebuh Bukit Kecil – 4

On going fogging can be seen in our taman with the latest which was yesterday at Lavinia Apt for a suspected case at Block 17.

The 3-storey corner vacant house opposite our RA has been raided 3 times by joint effort from Health Dept/MPPP/RA and the front fountain feature together with the water pump tank have all been hacked with holes to prevent water being stagnant for mosquitoes breeding. A title search was conducted and the owner are Indonesians with no forwarding address as the last purchase transaction 10 years ago was under the lawyer’s firm address.

Our RA will be organising a Gotong-Royong against Dengue on the 29.11.14 @ 9.00am as per announcement by our Combi Leader Mr. CJ Wong yesterday. Please come and support this campaign for the betterment of our taman.

Thank you.

Jeffrey Ho
TSNRA President
