The Capricorn Connection and Think City have great pleasure in inviting you

to the launch of the spectacular book and exhibition:

Penang’s Popular Music 1930s-1960s
at the Star Pitt St, George Town, Penang
on Saturday, 18th April at 11:00 a.m.

The book tells the story of Penang’s popular music through celebrating the musicians and the bands and describing the contexts that influenced the music. It does this in a beautifully and creatively designed book, extensively illustrated with photographs and advertisements and other graphics ‘of the time’, full of fun and celebration. It is a joy to read or dip into – each page is a work of art and full of information! And the book also contains a free CD which brings us the fabulous sounds of the music of the times.

The Launch will be a great occasion, with live music from Ray and Frankie Rozells, an exhibition, book signings and of course refreshments and good cheer! Come and be part of a celebration of a wonderful part of Penang’s heritage!

Please RSVP to Ms. Yati at nurhayati.hamzah@thinkcity.com.my or 04-2226956 by 14th April 2015

There will be a number of events connected to the Launch and the exhibition. James Boyle will be running a workshop later on April 18th, and over the next month there will be further workshops, talks, and a Penang Story event featuring Ahmad Merican (May 2nd). Programmes will be available at the Launch and we will keep you posted.
